St George’s Day Parade

Date: 22nd Apr 2018 Author: Scout Websites

Twickenham town centre came to a halt this morning for the annual Richmond Scout District St Georges Day Service and Parade. It is on this occasion that all Groups and Units in Richmond upon Thames meet for a celebration of Scouting and to honour St George, the patron saint of Scouting.
There was a fantastic turn out from 2nd Whitton proving that we are indeed – 2nd to None!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
