Date: 3rd Jan 2022 Author: Nikki Benge

A huge thankyou to everyone who has supported our festive fundraising project to raise money for the children’s wards at the West Middlesex hospital via the Sun and Stars Appeal

To date we have raised over £1,000 and if you have not done so already – there is still opportunity to donate at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/sunandstars2ndwhittonscouts

In addition, the response to our appeal for new toys to make up Christmas gift boxes for the children in hospital to open was fantastic! The toys were delivered to the hospital by Alan & Trevor who received the following message of appreciation:

“Not only have you made a generous money donation, but the generosity shown in your toy donation is absolutely wonderful. I know that this donation of toys, will really make a difference to our children and their families this Christmas at West Middlesex University Hospital”

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
