District Beaver Disability Awareness Badge

Date: 18th Mar 2023 Author: Nikki Benge

Twenty Four 2nd Whitton Beavers took part in the District Disability Awareness Badge Workshops this weekend.
Having found out about a particular disability or paralympian and their sport – the Beavers learnt about braille, sign language and various aids that could help those with a physical disability. The Beavers also had the opportunity to understand the difficulties faced by people with visual impairment by trying on various sim specs.

The session was rounded off with a fascinating talk from 7 year old Samuel and his buddy dog Rosie about living with a visual impairment.

Well done to everyone who attended.
