Beavers Remember World War 1
Over the last few weeks 2nd Whitton Beavers have been involved in an Intergenerational Community Art Project to Remember World War 1. Along with residents from White Farm Lodge Care Home and Year 6 pupils from Chase Bridge Primary School – the Beavers made poppies for a textile to commemorate all those who died. They also made a display of animals used in the war and pictures inspired by musical instruments and symbols to represent Kneller Hall.
The textile was presented at St Phillips and St James Church today with readings and contributions from the three groups who took part in the presence of the Mayor of Richmond.
The display will be at will be at Whitton Library from 17th November, so that it can be enjoyed by the wider community.
Thank you to Christine Osborne who organised the project.
