Scouts

Explore the world, challenge themselves!

Scouts (10.5-14)

The Scout Troop is the fourth section in the Scout Group.

Scouts are young people aged between 10½ and 14 years. There is flexibility in the age range: young people can join from age 10, and can move to Explorers between age 13½ and 14½.

Scouts aims to build and develop young people’s confidence, sense of adventure and outdoor skills, as well as encouraging them to explore their attitudes and creativity. They can take part in a wide range of activities including traditional Scouting skills, such as camping, survival and cooking.

Scouts are encouraged to work together and take the lead on all sorts of projects, from community based work to planning games and themes for their meetings.

At 2nd Whitton we run 3 Scout Troops:

  • Bird Troop – Tuesdays 7:30-9:00pm
  • Animal Troop – Wednesdays 7:45-9:00pm
  • Hunter Troop – Thursdays 6:30-8:00pm
